1. Qualifying rounds are May 25th - July 13th, every Sunday starting at 6pm.
  2. All performers must be 21 years of age or older.
  3. Covers only, please. No original or instrumental music accepted.
  4. Unless your band has performed at Viejas in the last six months you must submit an electronic press kit to be considered. Please email umc@viejasproduction.com or mail your EPK's to:

  5. Viejas will provide all technical support including: a sound reinforcement system, lighting system, stage crew , lighting designers, audio engineers, and stage manager.
  6. Viejas will provide all drums, (1) bass and (2) guitar amplifiers, microphones, and monitors used in all UMC events. Other backline will be discussed on a case by case basis.
  7. Viejas will provide a stage plot which every performing band will be required to use without modification.
  8. Band members will bring any personal instruments such as guitars, basses, keyboards as well as any effects pedals etc. Percussion, including throne and kick pedal will be provided by Viejas - just bring your sticks!
  9. All bands must use the same backline and drums provided by Viejas. Keyboards and any special equipment will be placed on stage before the event begins and will remain there until the end of the event.
  10. To keep changeover times to a minimum, any band with a left-handed drummer will play either first or last on the bill.
  11. All bands must follow instructions given by the Viejas stage manager.
  12. Bands are permitted to use pre-recorded sound material. Bands are solely responsible for obtaining any required licensing permissions. Viejas assumes no liability for copyright or other infringements.
  13. All bands must consist of at least: (1) guitarist, (1) bassist, and (1) drummer. Bands can be a maximum of ten performers but cannot be fewer than three.
  14. Sets are not to exceed (20) minutes. Bands exceeding their allotted time will be faded out and points will be deducted.
  15. Judging will be based both on votes from our judges and audience participation. Bring your loudest friends. The judging criteria is as follows: i) Showmanship; Costumes, Dance Moves, Humor, etc. - 40% ii) Musical Ability - 40% iii) Audience Response - 20% (Including online votes on SanDiegoJACK.com)
  16. Viejas reserves the right to record and photograph any performance for promotional purposes, with no claim for proceeds or any claim to ownership by the band. Viejas retains ownership of all recordings and photographs produced during this event (Band may purchased footage of their performance. Please contact Jason Mullen for more information)..
  17. Viejas Casino is a wholly owned and operated business of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, a federally recognized Indian tribe that retains and has not waived its sovereign immunity. All performances will take place on the Viejas Indian Reservation.
